NEO Protégé Duo FAQ.
Is this the older Protégé Alpha and Hitter combination?
No. This is the newer NEO Protégé system. Both NEO tools use Smart LED displays, three selectable RPM settings and USB-C charging. Specifications from the older Alpha and Hitter models should not be applied to this Duo.
Do the clipper and trimmer both have variable speed?
Yes. Both tools can operate at 7,000, 8,000 or 9,000 RPM, with the selected speed shown on the Smart LED display.
How long does the battery run?
Gamma+ states up to 120 minutes of cordless runtime from the lithium-ion battery. Actual runtime can vary with speed selection, hair resistance and operating conditions.
Can the clipper be zero gapped?
Yes. Gamma+ states that the clipper's fixed black DLC blade is fully adjustable and can be zero gapped. Blade alignment should always be checked carefully after adjustment.
Is the trimmer also confirmed as zero-gap capable?
Gamma+'s NEO Protégé technical sheet specifies a 0.2 mm trimmer cutting length but does not expressly describe the trimmer as zero-gap capable. We have therefore not made that claim on this page.
What does the Smart LED display show?
The display shows RPM, remaining battery life and overheat alerts on both tools.
What guards are included?
The clipper includes four pink double-magnetic guards covering 1.5–6 mm. The trimmer includes four pink guards in 1, 3, 5 and 7 mm sizes.
Can I use the Duo while travelling?
The tools use USB-C charging and support 100–240 V input, which suits worldwide voltage systems. You may still need the correct wall-plug adaptor for the country you are visiting.
